What a great first nature walk! The kids were amazed by the towering wolf trees. Thank you to everyone who was able to join us. You are always welcome! Our bug walk and nature walks will be scheduled shortly. All information will be relayed to you as soon as possible. As always, you are more than welcome to join us for these walks! (They are LOTS of fun and very interesting!) :)
We finally had semi-dry and warm conditions, so Room 12 headed outside with Mrs. Martin for a nature walk! We found many things including a red bellied woodpecker, a mourning dove, centipedes, snails, the nest of a red eyed vireo, pill bugs and lightning bugs (to name a few!). Ask your little one about the weather conditions we experienced today and the colors we saw! Here are a few pictures. There will be many more to follow. What a beautiful day we had for our October nature walk! Thank you to all of the parents who were able to take time out of their busy schedules to come and join us. If you were not able to join us, take a look at all the pictures! Hi everyone! Our next nature walk will be on Tuesday, October 15th at 1:30. October is one of the best months for a nature walk. Animals are getting ready for winter and the leaves are beautiful. Please come and learn with us!
Today we had our first nature walk. Miss Zauner mixed up the dates so it was extra special... it was a surprise! So Sorry to parents who were looking forward to coming, but next Monday, the 16th we have our bug walk at 10:30. Feel free to join us then. Please come and join us for our first outdoor adventure! On Monday, September 16th at 10:30 we will be headed outside for a bug hunt to fill our classroom tank. These bugs will help enrich our insect unit where we will be studying all sorts of creepy crawlers!
FAQs: How early should I get to Brewster? We will be leaving our room promptly at 10:30. Feel free to show up ten minutes early. What shoes should my child wear? We will be headed in the woods. The grounds are often muddy, especially after all of the storms we have had lately. Please make sure your child has either boots or play sneakers on. Will we have to touch the bugs? Miss Zauner will be watching and definitely NOT touching the class' specimens.. please do not feel pressure to become hands on. :-) Any further questions please feel free to comment, email or call me. Last Thursday we braved the cold and took a quick nature walk to see what is around our very own school. We could not believe all of the cool things we saw while out in the blustery weather. When we returned to the classroom we had the pleasure of learning all about animal tracking. What a fun afternoon! |
