What is Reading Counts?
An optional reading enrichment program run by parents and Ms. Lussier, Brewster's Librarian. Students are given an on-level, independent book and instructed to read the book multiple times. Once a week, students will be given the opportunity to head to the library to take a comprehension quiz. If the student passes, they may choose another book and continue on. If the student does not pass they stick with the same book and try again the next week. There are prizes, and a lot of great books to read!
How can you help?
For one hour, once a week a parent volunteer will be needed to take students down to the library to take their quizzes and pick out their new books.
**If you are able to volunteer please comment below with the following information:
-When can you start?
-What days of the week are you available?
-Are you available in the AM or the PM?
I will take this information along with the library's availability and create a schedule which will be posted and sent home. Thank you for your continued support in your child's education! :-)
